Our World Food Day - Big Hairy Audacious Goal! |
World Food Day, October 16th, is observed every year to raise awareness of the issues surrounding poverty and hunger. At Ainiti, our mission is to educate and empower girls through technology in geographic areas where need is the greatest. We recognize that in these areas, food insecurity has increased considering recent events. For this reason, we are excited to launch a new initiative towards feeding families in need. This month, we have conducted several small-scale food drives feeding Ainiti families. But we want to do more: feeding thousands of families before World Food Day. We can’t do this without your help. Please share your thoughts and ideas with us - [email protected] and visit our website to donate to help feed families in underprivileged areas throughout the world. |

The Pandemic’s Effect on the Ainiti Community |
The protection of children and educational facilities is particularly important during the public health emergency we are currently facing in India, the US and all over the world. Amidst the nationwide lockdown, schools and universities are depending on the online modes of teaching in order to maintain continuity of education. Schools are launching apps, conducting classes over Google Hangouts or Zoom, and sending interactive worksheets and videos for learning. Even though internet-based teaching is the most appropriate arrangement now, it has highlighted the inequalities in the education system. Without access to a smartphone or the internet, 73 percent of municipal school students in Andheri and a similar percentage in other schools across the country, are missing out on their education during the lockdown. This reinforces our mission at Ainiti, as we continue our efforts to improve the education of young girls in India, and all over the world.

At Ainiti our focus lies to help those in need, Ainiti Food Drive is yet another step we’ve taken towards our goal. We have provided rations to approximately 75 families and counting. We wish to keep pushing forward and fight this unfortunate situation and spread as much happiness as possible. Poverty and hunger go hand in hand, hence unless we raise awareness and fight for the progress of disadvantaged communities, eradication of hunger cannot be realized. |
